Technical UI Designer
Requirements:
-
Excellent communication skills in English (both spoken and written) — daily collaboration with UX
-
Designers, UI Artists, and UI Engineers from Epic Games and other partners
-
4–7 years of experience building UI in game engines (preferably Unreal Engine, but other engines are acceptable)
-
Experience working on UI across multiple platforms: mobile, web, PC, consoles
-
2+ years of experience regularly shipping updates or new UI features to a live user base
-
Solid knowledge of Blueprint, UMG, Slate, and C++ (especially for implementing presentation logic)

Understanding of memory and CPU constraints for UI; experience with performance optimization
-
Ability to debug and profile UI issues quickly and effectively
-
Experience working closely with UX, UI Art, and UI Engineering teams
-
Strong self-management skills, technical accuracy, and proper documentation habits
Responsibilities:
-
Collaborate with UX and UI teams to translate wireframes and designs into functional UI structures using appropriate widget classes

Break down features into scalable and reusable UI components (widgets, structures, classes)

Prototype and implement complex presentation behavior in Blueprint and UMG
-
Optimize UI assets and logic for performance, memory, and platform constraints

Profile and debug UI performance issues using Unreal’s tools and best practices

Support visual designers by implementing and maintaining presentation logic

Coordinate with UI engineers to determine what logic should live in Blueprint vs native code
-
Contribute to improving documentation, pipelines, and internal UI tooling

Ensure responsive, well-mapped player input and strong game feel across UI systems
Will be an advantage:
- Unreal Engine as the primary game engine experience
- Familiarity with profiling tools and UI performance optimization techniques
- Knowledge of Slate UI Framework (Unreal)
- Experience working on live games or GaaS projects
- Ability to work across multiple teams and contexts
